On our way from Paris to Toulouse, we stopped by the famous Chāteau Chambord. It is very different from Versailles. It is more understated than Versailles because no one lived there as definitely as in Versailles. There are small appartments with a few pieces of furniture, but nothing like the great ceilings of Versailles. What is special about Chambord is its asymmetry in despīte of its symmetry. The castle itself is very square, but the turrets are each one of a kind. I found this extremely interesting. Additionally, there is a grand staircase in the middle with two stairways wrapping around each other. Much like the most beauttiful thing in the world, DNA. After touring the castle, we got ice cream. I got my favorite, raspberry sorbet. It was delicious!
