So due to the fact it was Children's Day in the province of Phuket, all children under a certain age could get in free to the Phuket Aquarium.
Imagine being dead stop in traffic (not hard for the los angelinos reading this) for an hour, in single lane traffic, with trucks filled to the brim of children. Already a scary sign.
We finally made it to the Phuket Aquarium. It is a sign of love that my bf has for me, that we made it TO the aquarium...
Ahh phuket Aquarium. Being foreigners, we had to pay 100 Baht each to get in.
How to say this...
Tanks were grubby
Fish were scary/sad
Species variety not all that great
Intriguingly, there was a 'people mover' through the 'overhead tunnel' , to ensure people did not congregate all day in there.
I got some good movie clips and pictures to update this entry with soon.
Highlights:
Sting rays
Dugong skeleton
I asked my bf for a third highlight for the Phuket Aquarium and got an 'I dunno'.
Therefore, if you are doing research on what to do in Phuket, DO NOT go to the Aquarium. Go do a day snorkel. You'll see happier, healthier creatures out in the native.
