Christmas eve we ended up going to Neptune's point again as this time it was no headphones nut full sound till 5.30am. We went with this guy Dan, as the guy he was traveling with was ill. It was much better than headphones. The guys behind the bar were pouring all the drinks half half so you had to drink some before they put more coke in. We left at about 3.30 and went to Cafe Del Mar for one drink. All the power was off along the beach so you could hear the music at Neptune's point until they tuned it off.
There was no power all night and on Christmas day till 1.30pm. Luckily next door they had a generator so they could cook the turkey! We had Christmas dinner with four other people who were staying next to us. They had brought crackers with them from ASDA! After dinner we went for a Christmas swim then we didn't do much else.
On the Monday we got invited to a wedding. It was a Christian wedding but still different from one in England. We went with eight other people. When we got there they were cutting the cake in the middle of the dance floor. They then had some speeches then the wedding march which everyone joins in. It is quite hard to explain but involves people going round in circles a lot. We were told that at most weddings they only have whiskey or beer and this was no different! Our table had the most drinks and the most starters. We eat at midnight and after the food everyone goes home.
On new years eve we didn't really want to go back to Neptune's so we ended up staying at Moksha with a load of people. At midnight there were tons of fireworks. They set off this box that spits fireworks right in front of our table so we all had to move. It went on for ages! We ended up meeting this girl from Bude in the huts next to ours! At 3am we all decided to go swimming in the sea. The police ended up shutting Neptune's down at 3.30am so I'm glad we didn't go.
After new year we just spent the rest of our time in Palolem on the beach relaxing, then we moved into town for two days so we had a TV before going to SriLanka.
