We had a nice hut on the beach. Opposite us was a older couple from Torquay. Infect the guy from Birmingham we met on the plane last time we came out (who was meeting his friends from Holsworthy) was the woman from Torquays son!
On the first night we went to a headphone party at Laughing Buddha. We went early so we could find it before they switched off the music. We were the first ones there and so got a drink for rs5. The owner came to talk to us and gave us his 3 month old kitten to look after! He then said he was like his son so we had to take good care of him! We got some free drinks for it though, then some American woman came and took him away. We didn't buy any headphones because the music wasn't great but there were lots of others without headphones too
The next night we went to a jam night run by a guy called Hobo who we had seen two years ago. Last time he had a Goan guy playing bass called Elvis who was still learning. Elvis is now a really good bass player. Some woman started doing comedy and for a about 5 minutes we thought she was mad, we didn't realise it was comedy!
Its been so hot here we haven't done much during the day, just been in the sea and read our books.
We ended up changing rooms to one higher up so we can see the sea from our balcony now. the guy wanted more for the room but after a day of arguing and threatening to move to a cheaper place down the beach we actually have it for less than he wanted for the other room.
We went to Silent Sound at Neptune's Point on Saturday. Its much better now as you pay rs400 to get in and get free headphones instead of before when paid rs500 for the headphones and a rs500 deposit which meant you needed to take even more money for drinks. There was 3 channels of music there so more choice than at Laughing Buddha. They have a chill out area on stilts above the bar which sways when people walk up there. It feels like if there was too many people on one side it would topple over.
We're not sure where we caught them or how long ago. we had to buy some lice shampoo and a comb for me. We looked everywhere for a comb in Chowdie. Everyone kept sending us to different shops. I think most people didn't understand what we needed. In the end we gave up and went back to Palolem to find a normal comb. When we asked in Palolem for a comb he pulled out a set which included a nit comb so that was lucky. For Sy we had to scour the Internet for solutions. We found lots but with limited resources we had to go for the rubbing alcohol, Tabasco and vinegar! Sy said it burned but it worked! The lice and eggs have been suffocated so we are now both lice free. We have had to wash ALL our clothes though and we only just got some of them washed. Sy was without clothes till 7.30pm tonight!
Now we are off to a Christmas eve party and we have booked our Christmas dinner for tomorrow!
