If I had a penny for every time someone said to me 'Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair', I'd have 4p.
Arrived in San Francisco and after messing about a bit at the airport met the group (older than I expected, but all nice people) and were all transferred to the Mark Twain hotel (Excellent location, bit noisy).
After a short nights sleep went to a diner for a small breakfast of 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and two pancakes. This volume seemed to set the tone for the rest of the meals.

Lombard Street
This set us up nicely for a comprehensive city tour in the morning during which we saw Haight & Ashbury (home to the hippies), Lombard Street (twistiest street in the world), drove over the Golden Gate Bridge (shrouded in fog) ending at Fishermans Wharf and Pier 39 (home to lots of seals). We saw a tour by Segway but didn't have time to partake so jumped on the trolley back to the hotel from where we headed to Chinatown for a great meal (Fortune cookie: "You will soon get something special because of your charm").
