We arrived in Christchurch on Jan. 31 late at night and the next morning we received our rental car and started our driving. We had only been driving for 40 minutes when I made a turn down a road, after a short distance, I saw a car which i thought was on the wrong side of the road.. oops... that was me. Really have to get used to this driving on the left side of the road, and all the traffic circles, or round abouts as they call them. Seem to have one every block.
We made it to Queenstown in one piece, beautiful scenery along the way. The last few days we have been very busy with action packed activities. the first acivity up was canyoning
Next up, river surfing. We were given boogie boards, fins, wetsuits and helmets and then thrown into the river. We surfed down class 2 through 4 rapids. Very intense and you have to be in shape to do it, I proved I wasnt when I couldn't kick hard enough and hit the rocks. Awesome.
Last, but not least, we did our Thrillology bunge jumping today, 3 jumps in one day. the first, 43m high on the first bungee site ever, next, 143m high out of a cable car, finally, 47m high off of a ledge into the trees. Robyn says she has never done anything scarier in her life. The Nevis (143m one) had an 8 second freefall, crazy. We have videos, we are going to try and put them up, not sure if they will work or not.
Tomorrow, we are headed up north to the Franz Joseph glacier. We are booked in for a full day climb, ice piks and axes included.
Until next time.
