Stopped at a number of lovely camp spots on our way up the east coast. A lovely rest area in Woy Woy, where we met the friendly local pelicans, Pa enjoyed fish and chips and Sooz shopped till she dropped. Avoca beach, where we lovingly tinkered with and tended to Baggie, enjoying our first sights of the amazing Australian birdlife, Lorikeets, Kukaburas, and wild turkeys, which weren't as popular, having witnessed a local resident chasing one with a shovel! Onto Nelson Bay, where we were treated by Pa to a Whale watch expedition, amazing! Saw loads of humpbacks frolicking in the water
Loved Byron Bay and Dave scored in Nimbin so all was well. Also went out to Morton Island from Brisane where we stayed in a really plush resort and feed dolphins that come right up to the beach, it was really amazing couldn't beleive how big they are when you're up close to them! We also went in a 4x4 Bus over the sand dunes and did a bit of dune surfing which was great fun, though sand got everywhere!?!
Had a lovely journey up to Cairns had to rush a little bit to make it up there in time but managed to stop off at Airlie Beach and head out to the southern end of the great barrier reef to spend the day at Reefworld. Saw some amazing fish including the Mauri faced wrasse. The Barrier reef certainly is one of the wonders of the world, but unfortunatly due to it being Australia's winter it was pretty choppy and rather difficult conditions for snorkling.
