We arrived in Nadi at around dawn and first of all was struck by the lovely earthy and humid smell, we knew we had arrived on a tropical paradise! we left the main island of Viti Levu over to Taveuni. It was such a cool flight looking down out of the tiny twin engined plane at the reefs. We had read that Taveuni was the Garden Island but only when we arrived did we realise why. It rains alot, but the rain on Taveuni is welcome when it comes as it's so hot. We stayed on a plantation at a place called Bibi's Hideaway. It was a georgous place with coconut tree's, passion fruit bushes and tons of other fruit trees which we were given free use of, pick as much as you like. The Family that owned the plantation were lovely, Paulino the mother of the family spoke excellent english an was so hospitable making us feel so welcome. We were brought different food dishes each day and were made to feel like royalty. There was a beach only a few hundred meters away from our bure where we were staying and it was lovely to disapear down to the beach and snorkel in the shallow water watching all the tiny colourful fish.
