Fes - a minefield of souks

Fes was next. There was more wandering around the souks, it was more maze like than Marrakesh, skinnier & darker alleys. You were wise to stick close to our tour leader or face being lost forever!! We visited the "tour approved" leather and silk shops where we were guaranteed to get a "special" price! I almost bought a bag but decided I could probably get one cheaper elsewhere! In the leather shop you can look down on the tannery where they dye all the leather. This is a large area of big containers filled with all sorts of coloured dye and you can watch the men at work.
