Well life just get better and better.

Another early start (3.30am) but this was most definitely worth it. Today we were going on a hot air balloon. Katie had been hampering on about going in one of these since the day we started and today she got her wish.

We arrived to see them unpacking and starting to blow the balloons up which seemed to take a while and we thought would never be inflated. But eventually they were ready to go. We'd been selected to go on the second half hr run and so for the first part we would have to chase the balloon to its first landing destination. Now lets point out now, they don't know where they're going to go or land so we just had to wait around until they were near a landing spot.

Balloon down and it was our turn. We had to co-ordinate people getting out and getting in as if everyone got out at once the balloon would take off through lose of weight. Everyone on board and we were off, although you wouldn't have known it. The rise was so flawless and smooth that you didn't realise you were actually moving until you saw the ground disappear. Infact the only time you felt any movement was when someone moved in the basket or if the envelope and basket are in different cross winds. This is no joke it was a surreal feeling it felt more like you were still and the ground and clouds were moving around you instead. Then it all suddenly became mind blowing as the pilot broke a few rules and took us above the clouds. Now if your like me you will love it when a plane breaks through the clouds and sores above them, it looks like a giant puffy rug good enough to walk on and here we were just above them in the open air, the feeling was out of this world.

Unfortunately the ride was over to soon even though it was longer than our allocated half hr. We touched down with a gentle slide a quick tip over of the basket and started the fun of packing the balloon away, which everyone was encouraged to do. A cooked oz breaky and it was off to Fitzroy Island for us for an afternoon of snorkeling and a quick visit to the nuddey beach, don't worry we kept our clothes on as did most people. Infact their was only one bloke who was strutting around naked (we nick named him Horse, for obvious reasons) everyone was clothed which made for a very enjoyable nuddey beach looking at the people there, I think like us most people just go for a curious peak, perverts!!!
