God look what we had to wake upto

Free Camping!!!
New Zealand offers a free camping policy, ie if there isn't a sign saying no overnight parking you can stop anywhere you like and can I tell you its a fantastic policy. No need to pay campsites and the freedom to do whatever whenever! The first night was a bit strange, at the back of my mind I was expecting the local bobby to turn up saying "now then, whats going on here? I think you had better move on sunny" the only thing we had to contend with was some tool turning up at three in the morning wheel spinning his car to wake and annoy us (good job, tosser). And as you can probably see the views were to die for. Waking upto this every morning as we work are way up the East coast has been a reward in its self.
Yesterday we decided to go on a boat cruise around the Bay of Islands, with the highlight being a visit to the hole in the rock. I had suggested going on a sedate 3 1/2hr cruise but KT was having non of it opting for the adrenalin rush of a 1 1/2 cruise on the fastest passenger boat available. WOW, we jumped through the air and got soaked (i've had drier swimming sessions and the salt was still coming of our skin later that evening) we passed the competing company and left them for dust, I think it helped that we had a suicide captain that just wanted to scare the women and kids as much as he could. The scary thing was that on the way back he let a youngster drive. The captain was a bit taken a back at how quickly he opened the throttle (as were we). Good ride though. "Mack attack" for anyone interested.
We again stopped at a little cove that night for a bit more free camping!!! Unfortuantely KT was complaining about not showering for the last three days so were on a pay site to recharge the battery and get a shower or two. This site has a fish preparation area and as we passed by a local was gutting some fish, after enquiring as to what kind of fish they were and a brief chat he offered us a couple of fillets. Of course not wanting to be rued we took them. Dinner tomorrow taken care of. Anyway this is costing me a fortune, tomorrow we head upto Regina the tip of the island and then we will head down the west coast. Catch you later.
