WOW, wow, wow. Leaving Switzerland, as lovely as it was, was an absolute pleasure both Chris and I stated that the scenery was better than going fast. Looking at the vineyards cut into the mountain and the surrounding mountains was spectacular. Then we left and got into Italy, again WOW. The way we approached was up through the mountains, the weather was fantastic, the road smooth and hole free and more importatnly it was quiet. We could get past everything. We went through tunnels under bridges with cascading water from the ice melts and there were corners lovely lovely corners. This is what we were here for, this is what we wanted, this couldn't get any better!
Then disaster, we aimed for Monza but hit tail backs on the motorway from an accident, we decided to get off and head to Milan. What a shit decission that was, by luck we got to the central station but couldn't work out how to get out. My lugage had already been eyed up a few times so we dare not lave the bikes. The police couldn't help and so we chanced our arm at getting out. Somebody must have been looking down on us that day as we finally saw a sign to Monza, followed it, lost it, found it, lost it and an hr or two later ended up in Monza. The fun didn't stop there! if I can go back a bit before we set of I stated to Chris that if ever we got seperated to return to the point where it happened. I think you must have guessed what happened next. A lorry slid between us, I say slid more barged on a roundabout. I turned down one way and Chris went another. Ok I thought, made my way back to the roundabout and sat there, 10mins passed, 15mins passed, 30mins passed, still no sign of him. Where the fuck is he, should I risk looking for him after 40 mins I thought I better had. A few roads later I was heading down a dual carriageway when by luck I saw him. I pulled up and were reunited again. A few stern words were said and all was forgotten and off to find somewhere to sleep for the night. Next day we left Monza without even exploring and vowed never to hit a big city again. Do you think we learnt!
