Arrived in Kuta today
Today was just a travel and errands day. I took a 9am shuttle from Lovina to Kuta, and shared the ride with a nice couple from England that have been traveling for a few months as well. They were just in Thailand and Cambodia so I picked their brains for good spots to hit.
The more I lean of it, the more I think I want to take a side trip from my planed route to Cambodia to see Ankor Wat. All I've heard from travelers is it's a must see. So maybe I must!
I had a little trouble getting settled into a hotel when I arrived here in Kuta. I was planning to stay at the same resort that Sha and her friends are at, but when I arrived it was all booked, as were the next 5 we stopped at. Odd, because every place I've been so far has been so sparse with tourists, but they tell be it's because of Easter weekend. So I found a nice hotel about 2 miles up the road from where Sha is, and I rented a motorbike for the week. Problem solved.
I think I'll be in Kuta for 6 days, I'd really like to see Tanah Lot Temple and Uluwatu Temple as well. The latter has a Gamelan show performed in front of it, not unlike the Lotus Temple in Ubud did. We'll see if Sha and anyone else is interested, if not I've got a motorbike and they aren't that far!

Easter will be over on Monday; maybe you can change hotels then. Have someone take a picture of you on your bike with the island backdrop. Love, Mom
It happened again!!
Susan, Yesterday (Tuesday, March 18) I heard some interesting music on my satellite radio. It was exotic, magical and far eastern. The band was 'Yes' from the 70s and the title was 'Angkor Wat.' It reminded me of a course I took way back in college, the prof had a friend who was in Cambodia 'discovering' the ruins and was sending pictures back for us to see. It was a very moving experience. Since then, I have read what ever I could find on the site and still find it fascinating. I remembered that you might be in Cambodia so I was going to send a note saying you should go. I suspect hearing the piece on my radio was part of a plan and it occurred when you were speaking with that British couple. Needless to say I think you should divert to Angkor and that you should let me know of the experience. Once again you and I are somehow connected. Love, Dad

Hi Mom, Sofia had her nails cut yesterday. Nonna left me home all by myself. But they came back. I miss you. Leo
A new government warning
When making your future plans... according to this morning's news (3-20), the Tibet protests have spread to two other provinces, Sichuan and Gansu. 'American citizens in Tibet and especially in Lhasa are advised to avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place. U.S. citizens in Lhasa should seek safe havens in hotels and other buildings and remain indoors to the extent possible. Americans are advised to defer travel to Tibet at this time.' http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/pa/pa_4180.html I hear the peacefulness in you as you venture about, but know that the rest of the Buddhist world is not as serene. Just an update, I trust your judgment. Love, Mom
