We had an early start, getting ready, having breakfast and then on the bus by 8am to Amsterdam! It was another rather grisly wet day in Paris, and the weather cleared up slightly as we made our way to Belgium for our middle stop for the day. We learnt a fair bit about Belgium history and culture, and we would like to add it to our to do travel list.
Soon on the road again after Belgium, we crossed over the boarder to Holland. The view was lovely and filled with agricultural pursuits and the typical flat countryside. Both Trent and I have been enjoying reading books on the trip, but I've been my usual book muncher, and today I managed to read the Da Vinci Code in about half the day on the bus - very naughty I've run out of books again. After a short distance from the border we pulled up in Amsterdam, and after hopping off the bus we made our way on foot towards Dam Square to our hotel
Our hotel is lovely, right at the action near the square with a fantastic room and heaps of facilities (including a gym which is great since we have consumed way to many carbs) - thanks Mum & Dad Worsley, oh and our surprise was yummy! Since it was quite late by the time we arrived, after we settled into our room, we cleaned up and headed out into the streets to find some dinner.
There was a concert of some sort in Dam square which had numerous acts from different cultures and was very entertaining. After enjoying some good food and drink around the canals we made our way back to the hotel for the night. Tomorrow we are planning to do a bike tour around Amsterdam, and look at some museums.
Happy Birthday Mum Worsley - we hope you have a great day!!!!

Watch out!
Rene's sister Trish is in Holland at the moment too! Not sure where she is but she'll be pretty drunk wherever she is - she's on a mission to party after another failed relationship!!
