After a lovely breakfast of fruit (bought from the market) we were collected by taxi and taken to the airport. We were a little early, but that was lucky as the lines were so long going through the security section of the airport and the huge walk to the plane. When we got on the plane we realised we had been seated apart, despite the lady at check in asking us if we wanted to sit in the window seat or aisle, and I said preferably window but we just wanted to sit together. I got a window seat, Trent got an aisle seat behind me! No big deal though! We didn't eat lunch on the plane as the flight attendants were talking in Spanish so we had no idea what was going on.

We arrived at Orly and the weather was cold and the sky grey. After the long wait for our bags we decided to quickly find something to eat - big mistake!!!! The sandwiches were awful lol!!!! We then caught a train into Paris and after a few changes we got to our stop and shortly we were at the hotel Basilique du Sacre Coeur
Basilique du Sacre Coeur
. We got settled and then decided to check out the local area. We climbed up the top of Butte de Montmartre to the Basilique du Sacre Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart). There was a wonderful view over the city, and the weather began to turn very cold and we watched the rain come closer. We entered the Basilica just as the weather threatened and it was just beautiful.

After enjoying the Basilica we walked around the streets of Montmarte, enjoying the stunning architecture, and we then found a place to have some dinner. We decided on pizza's, which were fantastic and they certainly warmed us up. After some coffee we set out again on foot, and found a barber where Trent was able to get his hair trimmed as it was getting a little out of control. The barber, despite speaking very little English did a pretty good job on Trent's hair (Trent was very pleased), so as the hour was very late we walked back to the hotel for some sleep.

When we walked up to our room a little dog started barking in the room next door to us, but he calmed straight away as soon as I spoke to him. Trent though has enjoyed trying to make the dog bark at various times by making noises - as he misses the dogs so much and apparently the dog sounds like Madison it makes great entertainment for adult males! Poor puppy being teased!

We were lucky that despite the very grey clouds we only encountered a few raindrops all day!
