The day after we went out for Shaina's birthday, Zoe and I did nothing. It was fantastic. We slept in until 11 then watched tv until 2, then went and found food and came back and watched more tv. Kristy and Zoe met a Canadian a few months back (Matt)and he came and meet us so Kristy showed him around all day then we all met up and ate dinner. The next day was more nothing. Everyone went too see more of the town but i stayed back...I had already seen what they were going to see. That afternoon we left for Belfast. That night we went out for beers at a really cool pub. It had music posters and records all over the walls. Then the next morning us girls got up early and headed to the airport for our flight to LIVERPOOL!!!! (can you tell i was excited?). The hostel is expensive for a hostel. $80 canadian for three nights, but is SOOOO NICE. We have a room all to ourselves and I even have a queen sized bed all to myself. And our room even has a tv in it....its fuzzy, but is still there. In the morning we get a full breakfast. The whole thing is decorated with a beatles theme. We are staying on Mathew st. floor. Mathew street is where the Cavern Club is. For the people who don't know why thats important, it is the club that the Beatles played everyday at lunch befor they became big. Speaking of the Beatles...we did all of the cheesey Beatles things today...and loved every min of it. In the morning we went to the Beatles museum then in the afternoon we went on the Magical Mystery Tour. We were loaded into a vintage bus from 1973 painted the same as the one in the movie and were taken to all the sights around Liverpool. Including Penny Lane and Strawberry Feilds. Our guide told us stories about him getting drunk with Paul McCartney and how his mom turned down a date with Ringo when she was young. He held a quiz and i was the only person on the bus who answered anything...Kris and Zoe made fun of me for that. We ended up at the Cavern club. As we were walking in we ran into this little welsh man who the guide introduced as Allan Williams...the Beatles first manager. He invited Mr. Williams to come into the pub with us for a few drinks. He was a realy funny man. He got mad at me for going to London and not staying in Liverpool, then he had to tell me all the places he had been in Canada. Following that i did some shopping and spent way to much money on BEatles stuff...but i don't care.
Kris and Zoe are heaading to Bath tomorrow then off to Scotland. I am staying in Liverpool for another night to check out the nautical museum and see some other sights. Then it is off to London for 5 nights, then home...This trip has gone by to fast.
