OK Sorry for the rush job on Vimy Ridge and not being able to up date in the last few days. The Vimy monument was really neat I totally recomend it to every Canadian (and anyone who is not). The landscape around the area is beautiful with smoth rolling hills. But where the battle took place the land is pockmarked and scared from the bombs that went off almost 100 years ago. But is has been covered with a lush green grass. There are signs saying stay on the path because of unexploded bombs and there are sheep that run around keeping the grass short. After our day at Vimy we decided to go see Mount St. Michel. A castle/ Church that can only be reached in low tide. The base for this day trip was a town called St. Malo. We could have gone to another but this one was on the english channel and had beaches. So after a bit of travel we ended up in northern france. The beach was a 5 min. walk away from the hostel. Almost imediatly we went to the water and played around like little kids looking for shells and running in and out of the surff. We decided not to go to the church and just to go into town the next day and go back to the beach. The town was nice, a typical small european town (aparently ithis town is where the europeans vacation). One thing that was cool, we found out that St.Malo is where Jacques Chartire sailed from on his voyage to Canada. They had a huge statue of him there that always seemed to be surrounded by a bunch of french school children. We went to the beach that night and sat in the dark having a wonderful time..i was really sad that I had to leave. Especally because we had to be up at 545 to chatch the train to Paris for our flight to Belfast...which is where i am now. It seems to be really nice..we wont see much of it this go round...we fly out of here on the 13th so we will see it then. Tomorrow we are heading to the Republic of Ireland and seeing what we can see. I think thats all i have to say for now..Laters and i miss you all.
