I woke the girls up to come down to the beach, and there we had a lovely time playing and swimming in the sea. We put Georgie in his new turtle swimming float. The sand was brown and a bit pinky.
We ate some traditional Sardinian sfoglia di pane di semola frito, laughing a lot as we fed each other by pretend airplanes. We also bought coconut from a beach seller.
We carried on our way southwards, in a beautiful countryside, of vast nature, mountains, steep drops and wonderful rock formations.
We stopped to walk down to a spring that was on the way to a gorge.
Then onwards we went to the hill village of Baunei, the area that I intended to stay in
Up we went to the Golgo plateau on a precarious little winding road.
There were a couple of very basic campsites up there; the first we didn't like, for it was like a prison block on the baked brown earth, but the second one at Il Tipico was good. Little terraced platforms were there for the tents, set in an olive grove, by a pretty country restaurant, with animals roaming around and nice views.
Whats more there was only one other tent there, and very soon that person left, so we had the whole place to ourselves.
We had a good lighting system invented by Eleanor, who dangled the torch by string from a tree branch.
We then ate some Sardinian food, crispy thin breads dipped in a spicy cream cheese.
