Hi guys sorry we havent been on for so long - I guess we are having too much fun down under! Just a quick entry about Phuket, as while we were there we actually didn't do so much. The few days we were there stayed in a small beach town just north of Patong - all that was there really was a beach, some shops and lots of restaurants. Also it seemed very orientated around Germans - obviously thats a popular place for them.
One day we decided to rent a scooter and go and visit the Gibbon project (Where Michael worked when he stayed there). It was great fun riding the scooter, and we felt really safe on it. Unfortunately the same cannot be said when Susie was driving - Those of you who have watched Dumb and Dumber will understand when I say about the 'wobble'. The Gibbon project was really cool, seemed really well run and Sam (one of the gibbons) was fun. The waterfall there was ok although not so much water - also Susie got bitten on the cheek during the day (although not by a gibbon...)
It was interesting to see the place where Michael spent the summer a few years back, but apart from that Phuket didn't have that much to offer in comparison to the rest of Thailand.
On to Australia...
