Last morning in Chiang Mai.  Went for a walk in early morning and found the city much nicer when the tourists were still sleeping and normal Thai's were going about their daily activities.  Many people eat breakfast (and other meals) from street vendors or sidewalk restaurants since many Chaing Mai apartments have no kitchen.

Than checked out of hotel and went to Baan Thai Cookery School for a lesson in Thai cooking.  After making shopping list, went to market to buy ingredients for our meal - pad Thai, green chicken curry and mango with sticky rice.  Learned that sticky rice is a kind of rice as opposed to the way it is cooked (steamed in bamboo steamer).  Market was a wonder of colors, shapes, textures, sounds, smells.  I had no idea there were so many different kinds of eggplants!  And the fruit.....

After shopping, cooking and eating, we could hardly move.  But then off to airport for a flight on Lao Airlines to Luang Prabang, Laos.  From the most developed county in SE Asia to the least developed.
