I have just got back from a two day hike over the Routburn track, most people do it one way only, over two to three nights, four days, not us though because we are tight and skint! Also the camping sights are so far away it means you either do a bit of it, or virtually all of it there and back, so thats what we did! Nine hours of slog with backpacks waying nearly 20kgs up and down and round mountain! 22k's each way, about 26 miles there and back.
My feet really aren't happy with me, but my eyes had a treat! It was very hard but worth it.
I have some great pics and a couple of movies which I will sort through and add the best ones on here later. We were very lucky to have great weather for the hike, which is a very rare thing apperntly, there was barely a cloud in sight and from the top you could see, well for as far as your eyes can see! On the first day we was nearly at the campsite and a woman had fallen over the edge of the track, some guy who was with her asked us to get help at the bottom, so imagine that legs knackered allready we had to go even faster to get help only to find when we got there that they new all about it and a helicopter would be on its way!
It was a relief to here the woman would be ok and some good entertainment having the helicopter land right next to us at the hut, so the parmedics could do some emergency treatment for the women before taking her off to hospital.
It shows how dangerous it can be, nearly triped myself a few times and thats when the weathers good! The next day was the real killer though, very tiring when your allreay tired!
Bas had everyone laughing at one of the huts when he compared it to a full weekends worth of shoping with a women!
Anyway I will let the photo's do the talking for the rest of that excursion, as this is our last night in Queenstown before we hit the road again! Gonna have big night out tonight then its on to Te Anu, for a night, then the much acclaimed Milford Sound! Can't wait to go Kakaking on the fords! Hopefully the weather won't be to shit and I can really enjoy it.
Moneys run out again, thats it for now, thanks for the emails!

Hi Joel,

The place looks really Awesome - and the photos you took, give you credit - you certainly know how to frame a shot that's for sure. Makes me want to sell up and go treking, [of course with a young handsome bod in tow, goes without saying. Have to bribe....!

Loved the CD's/ Photo's you sent, we are still copying them, for friends & family. One photo I really love, is of you Bas & Ramu Before/After the bungy jump, you're all smiling [your teeth are pearly white and bigger than the rest] Good Shot of your Brothers In Arms literally - for you to look back on.

So glad you are doing what you r doin!

Much Love Mum n all back home xxx Love You!
