It was a relief arriving into Sydney because it meant our passports worries were over.....for now, and that we were back in the sun. Colm (aka Poppa Craw) picked us up at the airport and brought us to his bachelor pad where he lives with his brother Ciaran. It didn't take long before we were all ripping it up in "the Local" along with Dan and Mick for Deirdre's going away party.
Colm has taken up surfing so he brought us to the packed Maroubra beach where we got bashed onto some not so soft rocks for a while but escaped intact. We tried again in Bronte beach and had slightly more success. After all the surfing we deserved and needed a powernap before we hit the town again. By the end of the second night out we had completed a thorough investigation of the drinking and eating establishments in the King's Cross area of Sydney.
With this important research completed it was time for some touristy stuff so the next day we made the sacred pilgrimage to the holy land of Palm Beach, also known as Summer bay, where Home & Away is set. Colm ploughed in for a very frustrating surf while we wandered up to the Surf Club and did some deep thinking on the thinking fence. It wasn't quite the life changing experience Sinead was expecting but we took some incredibly sad photos anyway. We finished our touristy stuff the next day with a walk through the Royal Botanical gardens, stopping in the NSW art gallery and ending up at the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The next day we said goodbye to the Crawfords and went to the wrong terminal to catch our flight to Melbourne but managed to scramble over to the right terminal just in time.
