This was our highlight of Bocas del Toro as the weather was crappy and cloudy and our hostel had no water and an annoying owner. We hung out on the patio playing cards and drinking beer with our new german and canadian friends, swam out to a flat island that made people seem like they were walking on water, and we went snorkelling again and saw lots of starfish and a sting ray at which point we calmly exited the water.
As soon as we arrived in Bocas del Toro island we began a frantic search for somewhere that would be showing the Six Nations rugby grandslam decider. We soon learned that it was American spring break as accomodations were quite full and all we could find was American college basketball everywhere so we had to settle for watching it on the internet. Luckily we managed to get a good picture with English commentary and Steven Jones missed that last kick. We left the internet cafe with our nerves shattered and with nobody to share the historic celebrations with. So we decided to have a few drinks on the patio of our hostel and see what happened. Things escalated fairly quickly and soon had snowballed out of our control. We ended up at Aqualounge - a hostel bar somewhere else on the island that had to be reached by boat. It was full of spring breakers whom Sinead found particularly amusing and Mike had a couple of classic spectacular spring break party dives into the pool. We had nobody to discuss the rugby with but we got the celebrations down pretty good.
