Paul departed for Christmas with his wife in Friday Harbor, and I was sorry I didn't record some of our conversation, particularly about all the bikes he's owned as he's had quite the collection of collectors!  (Paul if you're reading this and don't mind posting them, I'd love to hear that list again!)  I also am going to check out those Avon tires as Paul said they're great for winter riding, don't need to warm up!

When I rode through Anacortes, I was elated to see about 6 cruisers and a supermotard as I headed down Hwy 20 to the I-5.  Did I mention that I hate the I-5?  It is HORRIBLE for a rider's back!  It was amazingly warm, tho I bore down hugging the bike on Hwy 20 as the crosswinds were the worst I've experienced yet.  OY.  The tailpack was fantastic for weighing the bike down (as I'm about a buck twenty lbs.), and it only started raining about 40 min. north of Kirkland.  There was a type of concrete used in the highway between Everett and Bellevue that SUCKS in rain!  Really had to watch pooling water and try to stay in the tread of the car/truck in front of me so I didn't hydroplane.

I arrived safely at my sister's surprisingly thawed minus my toes & fingers (much to my parents' relief, my Mom was really worried!).  I saw my niece & nephew through the window, and as I walked in the door my niece ran up, I tried to stop her, "No, I'm all wet!" and she did not care.  She gave me a huge hug!  At least got my jacket & helmet off before my nephew got me with his hug :)  I can't express enough how much I miss my son (in Edmonton with his Dad & family), and how AWESOME it was horsing around with the kids & the dogs last night, enjoying time with my Mom & sis-in-law while my brother & Dad worked on plumbing in the kitchen (a Smith Family tradition = fixing stuff in the houses... My Dad is the real Clark Griswold ;)

We stayed up watching 'Christmas Vacation', and one of the neatest things is hearing my Dad chuckle to himself - things that amuse him, and when I watch him I know why, because I'm his daughter, and I love him all the more for it.

After the riding, the playing, and evening with the family, I was happily content and truly exhausted!  Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
