Earliest start to date, with the driving starting at 5am. Most of us fell asleep as soon as we got on the truck, as we prepared for the longest day of driving.
In the morning, the highway we were on cut through Mikumi National Park, so it was an added bonus to have a mini game drive along the way.
After a brief stop at a local buffet restaurant, we continued on the road to Dar es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania. Even though it's Sunday, the traffic was a nightmare and was very slow getting into the town centre. A few of us decided to explore the city centre late afternoon, while the others continued the long way round to the camp site.
We made our way back to meet the others, by taking the car ferry as a short cut across the bay.
