Today was a short drive of only 4 hours. I was lucky to sit up in "Head Office", which is the front cab of the truck, with "The Captain", who is Patrick our driver. The view from there is amazing, especially in Malawi as every corner you turn there is so much village life to observe.
The next day we started early with a village walk. Christopher Columbus II greeted us at 9am with his friends, including another Mr T, Georgi Porgi, and a Captain Morgan. The local's sense of humour definitely appeals to me!!
The tour started with visiting Christopher Columbus II's house, which is basic by Western standards but quite lush in his village as it's made of brick, but still has a grass roof, no windows or electricity. We continued on for a demonstration of a water pump, and to visit the area they grow their crops
As you walk along the local kids come running out to hold your hand, and love it when you take photos on digital cameras and show them the shots.
In the evening we went to Christopher Columbus II's house for dinner, which involved sitting on a grass mat in the garden and been served up a very tasty meal.... just as well I took a head torch, as it was a very dark evening.

1. Malawi Village
. Into the centre of the village, we visited an HIV/AIDS project, medical clinic, and a primary school => where there are 1,350 children and only 10 teachers. As you walk along the local kids come running out to hold your hand, and love it when you take photos on digital cameras and show them the shots.
