Hit the road at 8.30am heading for Cape Cross, where the first Westerners arrived in Namibia. The attraction is a seal colony with 80,000 seals. Afterwards we drove back along the Skeleton Coast - long strips of harsh land and sandy gravel as far as the eye can see.
Turned inland and headed to Spitzkoppe, and pitched the tents in an area surrounded by impressive granite inselbergs that rise above the dusty plains.
Went on a walk with a local guide to view bushman paintings - final part of the walk was to climb a steep rock with the assistance of a chain for 100 metres.
In the evening, locals from a village entertained us with singing and dancing.
