Middle of Nowhere to Swakopmund
Entry 26 of 52 | show all | print this entry |

Having spent the last few days away from civilization, we were all ready to go early and head to Swakopmund - an adrenalin junkie town, where Namibians come to holiday (plus Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were here a couple of years ago to have their baby).
The added bonus is that we are spending two nights in hostel... yay a bed and pillow!! After settling into the hostel and had the sales pitch of all the activities available, a group of us spent the afternoon on the sand dunes quad biking... absolutely superb!! In the evening we hit the town, and ended up in a "lock-in" at a German bar. Eventually returned to the hostel before the sunrise. More thumbnails ...
Where I stayed:
Dunes Lodge

Been looking out for Postman Pat but haven't seen him yet. Namibia and Botswana are small populations in huge countries, so we traveled thousands of kilometres and not seeing much civilization at all!!

Hi - I hope you are having an amazing African adventure. I've looked at all the photos you've posted and was amazed how you always find the quirky everywhere! Let's see if you can find any postman pat vans in Africa though.. ha ha
Have a blast!
