In the morning, we made our way to the railway station and caught a local train for Sorrento. On arrival, we headed straight to the accommodation and settled into sun lounges by the pool for the rest of the day.
Sunday was the day for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Caught a bus from Sorrento to Positano, a town literally clinging to the side of a cliff. After a brief wander, caught the ferry to Amalfi and onto a local bus to Ravello. The 7km drive is described by Lonely Planet as "nerve-tingling", and not helped by the local bus drivers who attack the winding narrow roads driving with one hand on the steering wheel and the other hanging out of the window. After a look around, we returned to Amalfi and caught the ferry back to Sorrento.
Monday we caught the ferry to the island of Capri
Tuesday has been a lazy day by the pool.
Wednesday we headed to Pompeii - an incredible place, but even better when we spotted Ewan McGregor with his wife sightseeing too!!!
Today I say good bye to Jill, Steven and Alistair who are staying for an extra day, while I head to Agropoli.

1. Shopping in Ravello
. We took a funicular and then a local bus to Anacapri. The attraction is the Seggiovia (chair lift) that carries you to the summit of Monte Solaro, where there is a superb view over the entire Bay of Naples and a nice cold beer in the afternoon sun.Tuesday has been a lazy day by the pool.

Forza Italia!
Been getting these random E-Mails from 'super_sazza' and had no idea who it was - thought it was junk mail! Just had a read and sounds like you're having a great time, and didn't enjoy Naples as I expected....
Enjoy the rest of June and see you in July.
Tony
Life in the sun
Hey,
just back from great week in the sun with Soz, Steven and Alistair and have came back even more envious of Soz's travels, and not half as relaxed as I thought I would be - mark of a really fun and adventurous holiday!
Was great catching up and really looking forward to doing NZ in camper van (although for anyone that is interested I've been reliably informed that they don't do VW's in NZ!)
Take care and speak soon x
Big thanks Soz ...
... for letting me join you for a great week on your big trip home!
Memories of Sorrento, the Terrace, chilling by the pool, treading water(ish), slow cooking at the mozerella bar, Ewan McGregor, sun-burnt legs(ouch!) Italian football celebrations, Parva(& sore heads - ouch!) ... will live on for a long time to come.
Keep smiling and keep having fun.
Alistair

Heard your news - congratulations, and will catch up with you next week!!
Re: Life in the sun
Enjoy your week in Florida (recovering from the week in Sorrento!!).
Re: Big thanks Soz ...
So the giant nutella jars at Hostel of the Sun wasn't a highlight of your holiday.... ??
Re: Re: Big thanks Soz ...
Fair comment. I also forgot to mention my lap of honour following victory in the card game! Have fun back in Edinburgh. A.
