Dia de independencia!

It´s Independence day! I´m well rested. Good thing because today I am attending a party at Sandra Leyseca´s home. Sandra is Vanessa Ianson´s good friend. She lived in Edmonton for 17 years before returning to Santiago 18 years ago. Sandra picks me up at noon. It´s a beautiful day and I am treated to a traditional chilean independence day backyard bbq. Guess what? There´s tons of freakin´meat! Oooooh soooo good. Empanadas, salads, chorizo. See a recurring theme here? And the selection of fantastic wine. And piscolas (pisco and coke). Only Sandra and her daughter, Danniella spole english so it was a great opportunity to practice my castellano, which by the way is pretty bad. 12 hours later I am stuffed with meat and wine and back at the hostel for my last night in Santiago. I will return in December before I fly home.
