Today, in Mykonos, as I had done in Santorini, I just wanted to relax, and have shied away from the sightseeing, even though the thought of visiting Delos was really appealing?
Besides, I still have two weeks of sightseeing in Egypt and Dubai to do before my trip is over, and had done a solid two and bit weeks previously. Thankfully, I have another week off before I start back at work.
So, I ventured down to the beach mid morning, which is about two minute walk from my hotel. I walk amongst the rows of umbrellas, and loungers and I find a spot I like, and paid the 5 euros, and set myself up for the day.
I mentioned before that it's quite windy here, but down on the beach it's not too bad. The beach is white sand, the surf is sedate, the water is clear, and cool, and there were many girls to admire. As any full-blooded male would do, you admire the view. I was going to take pictures, but when I thought about it, it seemed rather perverted somehow, so I resisted the temptation.
It was great though, peaceful even, and gave me time to reflect on many of the things that have happened to me over the past couple of years, and just maybe, I might somehow get over it. That's all I did. I didn't go anywhere else.
I could have hired a quad bike and travelled the island, seen the other beaches and towns. Taken one of the many sea cruises to one of the other smaller islands.
No, that was it. Sunning myself on the beach, admiring the view, reading a bit, sleeping, and swimming. I didn't need any more. I was happy, and no matter how I look at it, I'm doing the right thing by doing nothing.
Guess what I'm doing tomorrow.
