Ok, so this was probably by far the coolest thing I've done since arriving in Australia.  I booked a $99 tour with autopia to go visit Phillip Island. They pick you up on this bus that holds 24 people and then you go do your itinerary.  After being picked up, we made our way to an animal sanctuary where I got to cuddle with a Wombat (my favorite!!), feed a koala (couldn't touch it though because in Victoria they are protected), and then I got to feed, pet, and cuddle with some wallabys and kangaroos!! Too cool, let me tell you.  It's not the same as seeing them in the wild, but of course, if you saw a kangaroo in the wild you wouldnt want to touch them cause they'd gouge ur eyes out. haha..  Afterwards, we went to this famous beach (very beautiful but cant remember the name), went to the nobbies (this little rock islands where seals hang out- again very beautiful). We didn't see any seals, but did see a few rabbits!!  Afterwards, we made our way onto Phillip Island where we had pizza by the beach, and then went to see the Penguins.  It was rather disappointing, because you wait about 1 hour for these penguins, and then they are too chicken to come up on Shore!! They ride the waves onto the beach, then in groups of 4 or 5 run back into the water like they forgot anchovies for their pizza!  They do this for like 5 minutes, until one brave soul finally starts waddling onto the beach.. Then, the other follow.  And well- once they get so far up into the sad, they just waddle for their lives. Me & the apostles

:)  Not as many as usual came onto land that night, but we did see a few.  They make their way up the shore and out into the brush where they meet up with their mates and feed their chicks.  Quite a cool occurence.  I was lucky enough to be sitting next to a uni professor and her class, so I got the whole schpeal!  Sadly, we weren't allowed to take any photos because it blinds the penguins and will essentially kill them :(  However, Fillippo (this Italian guy I hung out with most of the day) tried desperately to take some photos (without flash) but got in trouble with a ranger twice lol.
So, then it was a 2 hour ride home, but the evening didn't end!! lol.. Actually, this girl Maria (from Chili), the guy Fillippo (from Italy), and I went out to the pub to hang out afterwards.  Sadly Maria was leaving the next day so I won't be seeing her anymore :( But, Fillippo and I spent the day together yesterday and today and have booked our bus ticket to Adelaide on Monday. (It's always better to travel with someone when you get a chance).  Interestingly ladies, some things you might want to know about Italian (Mediteranean men).  1. They are SO good looking!!  mmm mmm... 2. They are very polite (he walked me home to my hostel since it was like 2am) and he always let's the ladies go first haha   3. They really like to eat and 4.  They appreciate beauty (especially in women!!)  This has got to be by far the most amusing.  When we are walking, Fillippo will see a pretty woman, blatantly turn his head while checking her out, and THEN actually turns around to watch the back side of her walk off... lol.. finally he ends the session in his italian accent by saying 'Beautiful!!'.. Ha- Italian men...  Seeing that we've spent the last 3 days hanging out and it's happened at LEAST 10 times each day, I've come to the conclusion that this is just their charming expression of their taste in beauty.
So the last interesting news to report, Last night we walked around the city and then went to the Casino Royale (a gorgeous hotel/ casino/shopping area). Being the hungry latino he is, we ended up eating at their expensive buffett (price didn't even include drink!!) But the food was delicious.. However, it was a weird combination of ethnic foods I must say.  Afterwards we went to the city abit, and lucky for me- Fillippo was too tired to walk me home! Now I say this because on my way back to the hostel (it's about a 20 min walk from his).. I started to feel ill.  SO ill, that I actually vomited into some poor unsuspecting trashcan!!  Once I did make it home, I was ill the rest of the night.. Let's just say, being sick in a hostel is not the most accomodating!!  Everytime I'd feel sick, I'd have to throw on a sweater, flip flops, grab my room key, and then run down the hall into the bathroom!!  Why dont you just use a trashcan? Well, when there are 3 other people sleeping in ur tiny room and ur spewing at 3am, it's not the most accomodating or considerate thing to stay in the room. I did however end up resorting to some shoe box I found in the garbage can when I couldnt make it back into the toilet!  haha.. lesson learned: Dont eat buffetts while travelling!!
