Great Ocean Road

Well, the long awaited road trip didnt exactly occur the way we planned! :) I arrived in Melbourne too late, so we essentially cancelled our plans to go. But on Tues, while hanging around the lunch area, my friend Donna from the UK suggested we just hire a car for the day and see the great ocean road. So we did! It was an insanely windy road, and Donna slept most of the way (haha), but what beautiful oceanfronts!! It was about a 4 hour drive but we got to drive along the coast, through a rainforest (where you could see Koalas hanging onto trees), through heaps of countryland, and finally arrived at the Twelve Apostles. Although most people say there are only 8 of them, there are indeed 12 (some have just fallen into the water lol). Anyways, got to stay there through sunset (although swarms of mosquitos were present as well), and finally made the journey back home. The next day I went to another beautiful beach (Southwest of Melbourne) called Brighton Beach. Although hiring a car is SO expensive, sometimes its worth it because you get to see stuff you couldn't normally see!
