Vegas Baby,Vegas if you can't get it in Vegas then maybe you should not have it. In Vegas you can do anything from riding a mechanical bull to shooting an Ak47 machine gun. However they will not let you do both together, bloody spoilsports and they call this the land of the free, free my ass :-)

You can go right in to a firing range an pay $25 for 25 bullets for an AK47 or any other type of machine guns. $20 for 10 bullets for a handgun, you hand a $1.25 for you Osam Bin Laden target (none of Bush were available) and off you go.I must admit I was surprised at how little kickback there was from an AK47 but it sure was fun.

Las Vegas is as trashy, tacky, glamorous and exciting as you can imagine.Downtown is tacky where it is filled with cheap motels, pawn shops and wedding chapels. Yes there is a drive through wedding chapel for those of you too lazy to get out. 57% of all US weddings end in divorce according to Dr Phil, I wonder what % of drive through weddings end that way?

You can drink, gamble and eat 24 hours a day in Vegas. In my hotel the blackjack dealers were Rod Stewart,Tina Turner,Billy Idol,Mariah Carey,Michael Jackson etc look a likes. Now how could you not resist playing blackjack against Rod,despite the annoying way he used to announce 22 when you hit it.All good fun.Needless to say in the casino bars there are poker machines in the counter, once you feed them money the bar feeds you drink, needless to say you have to drink fast while losing slowly not an easy thing to do after a couple of hours. Also in the hotel rooms and by the phones is 1800 numbers where you can phone for quick loans if needed!

As for the food, its excellent buffets where you can gorge yourself to exhaustion, while there I cut down to one meal a day, but the meal lasted an hour and half :-)You can get crab legs and rib steaks for $20.

The hotels are surreal, each large hotel has a mall in it.They all have a themes Paris has a half size replicate of the Eiffel Tower (where they give you a complete history in 60 seconds as you ascend by elevator) and an Arc Triumph.Ceaser Palace is based on Rome, Luxor is a pyramid based on Egypt etc. However everything in Vegas from the Hotels to the Cocktail Waitress looks good but are not 100% real.

Another great Vegas treat was the shows I saw 'O" by Cirque Du Soliel which was excellent. There is no narration but the performance reflects all great stories of man.The performers are Ballerinas,Acrobats,Trappeze Artists,Clowns,Synchorinised Swimmers and Fire Juggelers. They perform on stage,in a water tank, in the air and in the crowd.Superb is too small a word for the performance. If you go to Vegas you must see it!

From Vegas you can do many trips one of the best ones (apart from Death Valley) is the Grand Canyon. No photo can prepare you for the size of the canyon its absolutely huge.I feel sorry for the explorers who were trying to work their way West "Ah lads sure we'll go around it" they probably said, except it is 277 miles long. The GC is wonderful to see with its colours and the sheer scale of the cliffs.

One little anecdote from Vegas.I bought a T shirt in LA that said "L.A.P.D We treat you like a King" I was amazed at the number of people who asked me "Did I work for the LAPD" I even said to one guy, its actually joke when you read it, it refers to Rodney King, his reply "Ah mann it really pays when you read" I said before thinking "Don't be so sure" and he looked at me blankly. I do like most Americaians but God help there are some thick ones out there, AKA 52 Staters.

So that is all no tales from Vegas, as what happens in Vegas is your money stays in Vegas :-)
