Heaven!!
left Halifax early in the morning to arrive in Charlottetown late morning. Gorgeous hostel here, one of the best in Canada. I wandered through the town, bought my ticket to see the Anne of Green Gables musical. I still cry when Matthew died!! Even after all these years....
The theatre was full of oldies on bus tours! Haha.
I saw my first hockey game, between the PEI rockets and Halifax. I of course had to go for the home team, and they won 7-2. the crowd went wild.
Went to the harness races, something I'd always wanted to see. But it was so boring, the races themselves are slow, and there's a fifteen/twenty minute wait between races. So I only stayed for a couple then went back to the hostel.
I picked up my rental car on Friday, a cute little red buzz box-how fitting! I went with a couple Korean girls out to Cavendish to do the Anne of Green Gables tourist stuff. we drove along the coast and stopped at some beaches and view points. We went to green gables, LM Montgomery's birthplace, and the house where she grew up.
On the Saturday I drove the west coast of the island, spent most of the day driving and stopping every five minutes. It really is very beautiful here. Saturday night went into town to one of the little bars here. On Sunday Levi and I drove the East coast of the Island, went to some amazing places. Walked through a forest to a boardwalk over water, over the sand dunes to the most beautiful beach. Heaven.....
On Monday we went apple picking, the best apples I've ever tasted. Straight off the tree, so perfect. I even found an apple with a love heart! Stopped at a few other local produce places, went home with a car full of pumpkins, apples and lots of other vegies, including an insanely large zucchini.
I borrowed Levi's truck and drove out to see some (more) amazing coastline, beaches and lighthouses.
We went into town one night to say goodbye to one of the girls that was leaving the hostel. Great night.
