J'adore Montreal. Ces't magnifique.
I have spent my time here walking around and discovering this beautiful city. I've been inside the notre-dame basilica, also the basilica's of st patricks and marie-reine-du-monde. just stunning. i've been to a few other churches around town, all equally beautiful. i walked up to Parc du Mont-Royal, through the forest there. amazing views of montreal from the top of the mountain. The city at night is so cool, most of the buildings are lit up in different colors. i am only one block away from the St Lawrence River. the current here is so strong, i can hear the water passing by. One morning I came across a memorial service for the Canadian Naval service. I was speaking to an elderly man who invited me to stay for the service. Very moving.
Five days later, I am still here, reluctantly leaving tomorrow. Oh sweet Montreal. I went to the Olympic Stadium, walked through an open door only to find that I had unknowingly joined a tour group. I couldn't get out of the stadium, luckily the tour guide was really nice and let me stay for the rest of the tour. I saw where they played soccer at the olympics. very cool. there was a service commemorating the Montreal Naval Services, at the clock tower on the rivers edge. M Pour Montreal festival was on also, so got to listen to some funky French Rock. Nice. Goodbye my dear sweet little Montreal. I will be back. More thumbnails ...
