It had to happen...Yes, last night Lee and I performed on stage at a latin club here in Toronto. Friday night is Brazilian night at a club called Mana ( They will be putting up some photos at some stage. Lee, Hunter and their Brazilian friends Amanda and Ib joined the queue to get in. It was very crowded, around 200 people, and a pretty cool atmosphere.

Anyway, as Lee and I have been known to do, we took along our performance CD, just in case..It was a real mix of music...some Brazilian. Vicky, gasolina was played; I thought of you (also when I tried the chunky monkey icecream!). Lee asked the club photographer if he thought that they would like a show. He talked to the DJ, and the next thing we were escorted out the back for a chat with the DJ. "Yes", he said. He wanted Bomba and Magalena because lots of people know these songs and join in the actions. And they did!
Given that we had no rehearsals (except in their lounge before we left), and have not danced together for over a year, it went off very well. The crowd enjoyed it, and in fact when we stayed on the stage for a bit of samba reggae, we did a few standard moves which the crowd followed. Yes, I had a fab time...danced the whole night. I don't think I stopped smiling. Lee and Hunter had a great time too...I'll let them tell you...

Olá!!!!!!!!!!!! Kia Ora everybody!!! we are having the time of our lives!! It's been so magic and fun with Suily here in Toronto. She has definitely brought a bit of everyone!! When we met, we did the goss, the emotional talk, the deep talk, went out to fancy places, shoe and clothes shopping, but there was still a big gap.... We needed to go out dancing. When I asked her to bring her ponytail and some spangly top, I hadn't imagined that we were actually going to perform. We went through all the choreos at home she was all dressed up, so I decided to go in proper attire (photos and movies attached) We got there had lots of cachaça and when the DJ said another 2 songs and we are on. That great thrill came back again. Just before the performance!! It was great. He announced in English and Portuguese. "Now straight from New Zealand to Toronto: Dance Brasil"!!! HAHAHAHA.. The crowd went wild and joined in the moves!! Lua, you can put it on the Newsletter: Dance Brasil does North America!!!! I'm trying to keep it short but everytime I think of the night I get to excited. Apparently...according to Sue, at one stage I yelled: I feel as free as a kite on Mary Poppins!!" There were a few funny things after, like me dancing with this girl and as I rebola'd down I dug my teeth in her head. Sue teaching 4 hunky latinos how to Samba, Hunter drinking sneaky tequilas, while we were on the dancefloor and much more. So much happened that we would need a travelblog just for that night.

Clo, obrigado pelo livro. Adorei!! Me lembrou da época de faculdade, quando eu busacava entender o mundo através do teatro. Fiquei emocinando com sua carta e muito feliz em saber que vc ta lidando com tudo da melhor forma possivel, com naturalidade. Sue me conta as hsitorias aqui tambem. Beijos Ta amo!!

Sorry guys jjust a quick message to Clo. Lot's of kisses and hugs!!!
