The next morning, it was up early to get on the bus. I crammed as much
stuff as possible into my carry on and my suitcase weighed in at a 16.7
kg, and we had to be under 20 kg, so all good. Of course, I should
mention by this point, I was really sick. I caught whatever Michelle
had. I got no sleep the night before nad wound up sleeping the entire
way to Dover. I missed the White Cliffs because I was too tired to look
out the window. But I hear they were pretty cool. Once we got to Dover,
the bus drove right onto a ferry and we crossed over into France. All aglow
All aglow
The
ferry itself was like a mini cruise boat. THey had slots, a lido deck
where you could get food and various lounges and shops. We get into
France and drive a couple hours and stop at a rest station. I ordered
in French. We finally get into Paris around 4:45. After resting a bit,
we went down for a dinner and then a bus tour of Paris. As we drove
through the drive around from the Arc de Triomphe, the driver turned on
some funny music, but I don't remember the name. Then, when we drove
past the Opera House, he turned on Phantom of the Opera. (They did this
throughout the entire trip, turning on appropriate music based on where
we were). We went  to the Eiffel Tower that night, only by the time we
got up and took a couple pictures, it was time to go back down. But we
did get to see the tower all twinkly with the lights on it.
