We left Homer and backtracked through Anchorage until we came to the Parks Highway. Then north on the Parks Highway to Talkeetna. No stops, except for gas. The weather was very hot -- for Alaska -- and the sky was hazy. There were no good opportunities for taking pictures because of the haze.
It was hot in Talkeetna today, in the mid-90's! Talkeetna is a very small town with lots of funky shops and eateries. We enjoyed walking around and looking in all the shops.
With luck, we will see "The Mountain" tomorrow. That is, Mt. McKinley also known as Denali, the tallest peak in North America. However, Mt. McKinley is so massive that is makes its own weather. Often Mt. McKinley is shrouded in clouds even when all else is clear for miles and miles.
