We hitch a lift in Bill & Chris' big car to Denmark, which also turns out to be a town in W Australia, not just a Scandanavian country. Loading the boot is a complex procedure and M enjoys me & Bill supervising his efforts and we have no cross words or swearing.....
We drive through big tracts of forest and farmland and go and see tall trees with spiral stepladder-esque staircases up to the top. They use these to view fires apparently. Wouldn't catch me going up them - far too high up!
Denmark was a nice little place. Bill & Chris stayed at a lodge in the hills nearby where the kangaroos frolicked outside. We stayed in the local backpackers, (where the kangaroos worked down the mines or signed on for benefits).
After a pub tea we retired to the bar where the locals were having their twice monthly dose of kareoke. Someone had already put their name down for the one I wanted to sing. Apparently one of the girls was an Australian idol finalist, so we stayed to listen - it turned out not to be girl who totally slaughtered my song though!
