Heading to the South Island
Entry 35 of 79 | show all | print this entry |
Today we get the ferry to the South Island (which takes 3 hours) the last hour of which is through the Marlborough Sound which is very pretty. We are heading to Nelson for a stopover before heading West to stay with relatives in Tapu Bay (more on this later) via a wine tour. We had a fab day (they have their own cimate arond here, it was raining on both islands but not here!), sample lots of wine & nice platters of food and meet some llamas. The wine tour is a leaving present from Marcus' colleagues, so a big thanks to them - needless to say there were funds left over to buy a bottle or 3. At the last vineyard we were met by our hosts for the next 3 days Linda & John, (John is my dad's cousin) so they had to put up with us in te state they found us!
