Friday Sept 28th. We checked out of our lodging in San Vincenzo early and walked to our tour bus. we took our backpacks with since we are going to stay in Florence tonight. the bus ride went much quicker than to Rome, but it was a morning of thunderstorms. By the time we arrived in Florence it was nice and sunny. our guide took us to several historical places of interest and gave us much history and back ground. at 3 o'clock several of us went with the guide to a restaurant he favors. the place was great, both for food and atmosphere. our table had people from Hungary, england, Germany and America
. all these people speak at least 3-4 languages and many speak 5-8 languages. i think we are lacking in our education system. we checked into our hotel in the heart of old Florence. The hotel turned out to be a really nice old hotel. We walked to the museum that has the original sculpture of David by Michaelangelo. This was really impressive, and I am not an art and culture lover. After that we walked the city in the early evening and went to dinner at ZaZas. What a cool place, as usual the food and desserts just get better. I guess they are all good but unique to each restaurant. We have tended to pick the nicer restaurants that the locals frequent, since you get away from the tourist menus and have much better food. Florence is truly a fascinating city as well which requires much more time. There is lots of night life and great restaurants. Italians certainly love fine food, tight pants, fashion and leather. Tomorrow morning we catch the train and head for Munich DE.
These entries are late, but we have not had access to a computer until now, and it will be somewhat limited. I will try to bring you up to date as far as I can. I will forget about caps to save time on this funny keyboard. We will add photos later and let you know when we do.
