What a great city!

Up-front on technology - even in hotels.  We had to use our room access cards to access the life floor our room was on.

We arrived on Saturday and managed to check into to our hotel straight away.  Not wanting to waste any time we rested a bit and then hit the streets of KL.  Thank heaven we booked into a hotel that is in the centre of all the excitement.  And I mean in the centre.  We had many of the most famous Plaza's within 3 blocks walking distance.

The first morning of shopping was in a plaza filled with goods, electronics and food. We had lunch at the Sushi Station.  We all ordered different bowls of food and tried each others food.  I had a delicious Tom Yam dish with a small portion of meehoon noodles. We drank Tiger beer - which is just as good as South Africa beer yet it doesn't make you drunk.

Next was the Low Yat Plaza - a 5 to 7 story shopping block of technology.  There are techie delight shops with everything you can imagine in them, cell phones, PC equipment, video equipment, cameras, camcorders, ipods, GPS, CCTV.  We asked for things we were looking for - some had, some didn't - but we discovered that data stick are really cheap but cellphones and camera equipment are about the same price as in South Africa so it wasn't worth it to buy it there.

After shopping our feet were sore so we went for Reflexology Massage with Jun Lee at one of the many massage shops along Bukit Bintang.  Mom said her feet really hurt and the lady bruised her feet.  We, the sisters, knew that the massage was really sore but we knew we would feel relief after-wards.

Tired from our 1st day in KL we decided to go have a little R&R (Rest & Relaxation) in the hotel.

Later that night The Sisters & Mom (all 3 of us) decided to walk along the KL streets around our hotel as Jun Lee had told us that there would be celebrations that night on the streets - he said it would be like Christmas.  It was the Lantern Festival. All the street lights were on, many lanterns were lit up brightly on buildings and hanging across the walkways, trees beautifully lit with fairly lights - and everywhere.

There was a live concert on the pavement Sungei Wang Plaza which turned out to be the Malaysian Idols on tour.  We ate, we drank (Tiger Beer), we listened and laughed the night long until about 1am.  We really did not feel tired - time slips by here.
