As we roll out of bed, it begins to sink in that today is our LAST DAY here in Chateau-Gontier. So sad. ... We definately have some very exciting things coming up on the last two legs of our journey ... but we will be ending our time in this small town in the French countryside.

At 10:30am, Franck, Vincent, and Sandrine arrive to our house as planned. Janice, me, and the two Frenchmen will go play tennis. Sandrine has volunteered to stay with the kids and cook waffles while we are gone! : )

I'm talking so much smack to the French team of Franck and Vincent, knowing full well that they are going to DESTROY Janice and I. We aren't even close to being in the same league. But we will play our best! ... A quick trip in the car and we arrive at Franck's club and go inside. A quick warmup and we begin. And just as quickly, Janice and I go down in flames ... 6-0, 6-0. But we have smiles on our faces, and Janice and I hold our head up high knowing that we were able to take a couple of games to duece. : )    ... Once the French have asserted their dominance, we switch up the teams. Franck and Asher v. Vincent and Janice. ... And then, things get ugly. Vincent seems like a very nice man. But underneath the surface, there is a vicious monster of a beast, willing to do anything to win. "Asher, you must move closer to the net.", he coaches. "Closer, Asher." ... "And don't move so much. You must stay, and wait. Don't move." ... "Good, closer.". .... and then... WHAM! He hits a shot that nearly shatters the windows with the noise ... smack in to my eye. "NNNNNooooooooOOOOOooooo!!!!" ... I fall to the ground. Nearly blinded for life. I am surprised my eyeball did not fall to the ground. ... hehe. kidding. (Did hurt a bit though....). A good laugh, ... and we play on. A good hour or so of play and then we call it quits and back to the house.

We will spend the rest of the day packing and preparing for tomorrow's early departure. The train leaves from Anger at 9:15am to.... the big surprise of the trip for the kids ... DISNEY PARIS!  We are SO excited to see their response when the train pulls in. They have no clue. They think we are going directly to Paris.

Can't wait.

PS,... learned that the drink I had tried a while back and couldn't find on Google is called Pommeau. I had misspelled it.

PPS ... I received an email from travelpod informing me that our blog will soon be a FEATURED travel blog on the front page! Also, that the photo I took atop the scary ride in Tibidabo in Barcelona, Spain will be a featured photo soon, also on the front page. Cool!

I am English and live in Chateau Gontier. I happened upon your blog and was amazed at the things you uncovered in your short visit here. You have opened my eyes to the town I have lived in for ten years!!

I also was amazed at how you coped with no French. I guess better than any French who visit the USA without any English!!

Will you come again?
