Getting to Calcutta was a very plesant experiance. We got a shared rickshaw to the train station, got a bite to eat and then got on the train at 8ish.

The train was a 3rd class sleeper but it was clean and there are three beds on top of eachother on either side so you are effectively sharing a room with 5 others. Polina and i both went to sleep straight away and awoke at am to find we had just arived in Calcutta - what a briliant journey!! The only problem was i am still having stomach problems 2 weeks now).

When we arived in Calcutta we had a lot of hasstle by guys trying to find accomodation for us. They wouldnt take no for an answer and literally followed us around for an hour while we were trying to find a place which wasnt too expensive but was clean (very difficult task!)

Once in Calcutta I sudernly lost all motivation so although we have been here 2 days we have done very little. We saw 2 films at the cinema both which were ok but other than that and a bit of shoping we did nothing!!

One of the evenings we wemnt out for a nice meal in a place where the indians serve you wearing Cummerbands - it was very nice except an Indian couple behind us shouting at eachother and the woman trying to get the man thrown out by the staff!!

So today we get the 27 hour train to Chennai - i hope it will seem as quick as the last journey!
