We left Bhaktapur at 12 knowing there would probably be a night bus from Kathmandu to Janakpur. We walked to the bus stop with our heavy, heavy bags and the bus left imediatly or the centre o Kathmandu. We would have got a taxi like we did on the way but we are not in a rush and it works out a lot cheaper this way. From The centre of Kathmandu 1 hour later we got a taxi to the bs station 5km away. A local kindly helped us get a good price.
From the bus station i eventually managed to get a semi reaonable price or some ticket to Janakpur but it was not withour conciderable effort. We have 5 hours to wait around at the bus stop though. The past 3 hours have been spent eating Samosas and sipping Chai and then we walked a little to this internet cafe to eat up some of the time
Once in Janakpur we gota cycle rikshaw to a place which Polina said was the 'worst room she had ever seen', so she went loking and found a nicer one. Janakpur itself is not that nice so we have decided only to spend the one day here. We got to the room and sleped as i slept for only 30 mins. I set my alarm for11 and then we went to the bus statiuon to arange a bus for tomorrow to the boarder.
After succesfully arranging the bus we were going to go and see a Monkey temple (where a large 65kg monkey is ment to be caged up) but we both had stomach pains-they were bad so we went back. Later on in the day we were looking for the monkey temple but no one had a clue what we were going on about. It turned out the monkey died from gross over feeding so we saw a couple of temples and then got an early night.
Tomorrow we get a 7 hour bus to the boarder and then hopefully a jeep to Darjeeling.
