Saraha was ok to get to - one again we arived at 2 - seems to be a pattern here! We eft Gorkha on a bus to Narayanghat, changed to a minibus to Tadi Bazar and then got a taxi to Saraha with the promise to look at a uys place. We looked and after a bit of stress managed to leave to look at some others. We walked for 1km in the boiling sun - 38oC! and then checked out a few places, a guy caught us and marched us to a place which was ment to be good but i gave up part of the way there - it was another 20 mins walk! We got a nice place for 200 Nepalese rupies between us - not bad! Mind u that is own to Polinas amazing bargaining skills. Aas it was so hot we had a nice meal and chilled for the day - althouh we have planed a very hectic day tomorrow.
8/8/06
Today we have just been Canoing, walking, Elephant bathing and to a Elephant breeding centre
The canoing was a bit of a joke - it was a long boat trip for 45 mins but in that 45 mins we saw 3 crocks - it is pretty scarry when you see one suddenly appear then sink beneath the surface - if you fall in you've had it!
The walk back threatened to be very leachy but i was prepared and by tucking my trousers into my socks i only got one on me!
We saw a Rhino from the banks and a Peacock and a few other small things on the walk. It was ok but nothing special though.
Elephant bathing was amazing! A group of English people and the 2 of us jump on an Elephant as it plunges into the water trying to knock everyone off - it was quite an experiance! not much bathing was done - the only potential problems were
1 Getting washed away by the rediculously strong current
2 getting eaten by crocks
The elephant breeding centre was also very good, we saw 7 mothers (Chained) with their babies munchin on grass - a nice experiance.
10/8/06
Today at 6am we went on an elephant treck, we wondered through the jungle with two very chatty Nepali's on the back. They were being really loud but we did see lots. We found an orphaned Rhino and the guide ran back to get a load of elephants, together we hunted this Rhino and tried to cath it but to no uvail. Althouh taring through a jungle on an elephant flattening everything was amazing! We also saw 8 deer and a couple of small things - i loved it!
We also leave today so straight from the elephant treck we packed and got out of the hot hot heat at Sauraha (Chitwan National Park)although the hotel staff were being less than helpful allowing us to leave! Kathmandu Next!
