The day started badly as i had to be up by 5am, i got to the minibus just on time but still couldnt get cash, luckily a guy called rich lent me a bit of money for the bus as i had no change so that was a real help.

The trip is 1.5 hours followed by a moped journey over the boarder followed by a 6 hour boat journey to Shinoksville.I was sat next to an Irish heavy metal fan called Derek. He is a really interesting person and we got eachother through the boarder which is quite an interesting one as there are guys that take you from one place to another to get a stamp, to another place to get another stamp, and then over the border all for about a pound, i was hapy to spend the money as i would not have had a clue what i was doing! As sooon as i got into Cambodia i stupidly changed some money at an appauling rate, luck it wasnt much! I then got onto the boat as it was due to leave.

I sat on top of the boat and this is always the way to go as anyone with anything about them goes here as it is clearly the soscial area. I met an english couple called Jamie and Juliet, sat next to Rich (the guy that lent me the money) and derek and a few others were up there. There was a crazy American yoga guy doing loads of excercises and he was basically just a nutter, still, he provided the entertainment while we were on our journey. Typically about half way through it started raining but us 'hard brits' stayed up on the deck while everyone else went downstairs to the dry. When we docked i thought my drum may have been stolen which i was almost happy about as it is such a pain to carry around, but then unfortunatly someone found it and gave it to me!

I got of the boat with two guys as they seemed to know what they were doing but then Derek was going somewhere else with some Swedish girls so i elected to go with him! There are three areas in Shinoksville Victory hill, the town centre and Seriendipity which is the new area. We stayed in the backpacker part - Victory hill and got a nice place for $4 between Derek and myself and the Swedish girls got a room opposite.

Just as we settled in we saw Rich and Jamie and Juliet and we are all staying at the same place which is pretty cool! The threeSwedish girls are Anna, Hanna and Lotta. Hanna and Lotta were traveling together and Anna met them on the boat.

The 1st day we went to the beach and then had a meal at a Russian restaurant that had snakes crawling around everywhere. Admitadly they were in cages but it was pretty scary at points! Every day here has been spent on the beach, its been great and now i have a bit of a tan woo hoo! There is free pool everywhere, cheap drinks, good and cheap food, free movies at the guest house - its a great place and definatly one of the best i have visited in my time away.

Derek and i have similar travel plans so we may be traveling with eachother for a little bit, i also think Anna's plans are similar. The other 2 girls left earlier as they are only on a flyiong visit around asia but i spent a lot of time with Lotta - its a shame she left so early but thats just the way it is!

Lotta and i played frisby on the beach every day and we got really good - we got a ralley of over 100 which is pretty impressive! There are also a lot of beggars on the beach but most of them are trying to see something like bracelets or fruit. They are really nice people and SO persuasive. They chalanged me to games of O's & X's and i recon im pretty good but they ground me down and eventually after the 18th game i lost one so i had to buy a bracelet off one of them. The other wanted me to buy stuff but i managed to palm them off. The next day i hadnt learned my lesson and lost another game - this time i had to have a manecure for a $1. Im not playing that stupid game again!!!!

Derek and i play frisby a lot with the local kids and it is great to see there face light up when you throw it to them. They are also very mischevious and so you can start chasing them around. There is also a whole load of puppies around so a fair bit of time is spent playing with the little puppies its great as i hate just sun bathing on a beach - i like to be occupied.

Today i am off to Kampot which sounds good according to the book, Derrek is coming as is Anna & Rich so it should be pretty good - although i love this place a week here has been sufficient and im looking forward to the next adventure!
