Pakse is a small town with another Nazim like every other town in Laos. The purpose of this visit is to visit the Boluvan Plateau. Greg was quickly in there offering to share a bike with Lu and as Lyd needed some time apart and i was not so keen on the bike idea because of my earlier exploits i decided to stay with Lyd. This however did not last long as Lyd and i had another argument so i decided to spend the evening with Lu. We went for a nice walk around the town and i generally chatted and moaned about Lyd, Lu made me feel a lot better and we sat down for a drink when she persuaded me to go with the others for the bike trip. Lu shared me because she was scared of Greg's driving and all the others (Greg, Alex, Rane and Daz) each had there own.
The lads took off and it appeared they could literally go twice as quick as me but that was cool as i was not exactly in the speeding mood. We saw 5 waterfalls i think there were a lot) but each was very beautiful in its own right. The guys kept going ahead of us to each one so although it was going to be a 'team Laos' adventure it was just Lu and i for most of it which was cool. There was a very surreal moment when i had to take stock of what exactly was happening to me at this present moment in time:
1/ I'm in Laos over the other side of the world 2/ I'm on a Motorbike in Laos over the other side of the world 3/ I have a beautiful girl on the back of a Motorbike in Laos over the other side of the world 4/ I have a beautiful girl on the back of a Motorbike talking about Whinnie the Pooh in Laos over the other side of the world Makes me realise how lucky i am! Lu and i also saw a tribal village and by the time we came to leave it was getting really dark. This is when i realised my lights did not work so i had to follow another bike all the way back using his lights to see as i did not want to be hitting another pothole again!
I spent another nice evening with Lu and persuaded her to come to Champasak with me although later she changed her mind as it was not something she was that keen on. I made a decision to go anyway without Lu or anyone else in 'team Laos' but ended up leaving with Lloyd. I was in a rush as i wanted to join up with Lu and the others ASAP but didn't want to miss the temple - i had to remind myself i was traveling and it is very important to see what i want to see.
