Leaving Lankawi was hard as i had such a good time there but as Thailand was our next destination i was dyeing to get there!
This only involved an hour and a half boat journey over to the border so Liam, Fin, Maggi, Karen, myself and a girl called Bertie (i will create a whole entry for her in a bit!) got onto the fast boat and after an hour and a half of sunning myself on the top of the boat arrived in Satun.
The whole immigration thing went ok its just they make you feel like you don't belong there.
Karen and myself (the only 2 English people) got through fine and we had to wait about 20 mins for All the other Irish, Swedish and Dutch people to arrive. After a bit of bargaining we got a Tuk Tuk to the town for 200 Bart. This seemed a lot at the time until i did the conversion. There is actually about 75 Bart to the pound and so 2 pounds 50 to get 6 people 15k's aint bad!
Once we arrived in Satun Fin made us all stop and work out what we were doing - as usual this meant she wanted to go to a coffee shop so we worked out we were actually going to go up to Trang. This is slight further up the country but it is a good jumping point to the Islands on the Andaman Sea. This is only a 2 hour bus journey and luckily the bus actually comes and picks you up from the coffee house we were in.
The journey was although short - extremely painful. The music was at such a high volume in actually made your head hurt. If it was good music i wouldn't have minded but it was terrible kareoki music and so had no vocals just some cheese pop music and no vocals - it was horrible. Luckily i had my traveling friend with me - my iPod. According to Brett back home when you have them on full pelt it is actually louder than operating heavy machinery and not too far away from a jet engine's noise - it just about overpowered the terrible kareoki and made my trip much more pleasurable than the others - ha ha!!
